It was a pleasure for our team to organise and host the 4th General Assembly Meeting of the AIMPRESS – INTERREG project in Sarajevo, held from April 21–22, 2026, within the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme. The AIMPRESS project serves the maritime sector by integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices for cleaner, more efficient ports across the Adriatic-Ionian region. It focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency through smart systems and the integration of renewable energy sources.
The meeting brought together partners from across the Adriatic-Ionian region for two days of insightful discussions, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. During the meeting, ENOVA, together with the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) team, presented the methodology for validation and cross-evaluation of AIMPRESS technologies, based on a Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA). The main objective of this approach is to support decision-making and prioritise the implementation of key technologies, including PV systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Cold Ironing, and Digital Shadow solutions.
The MCA framework integrates technological, environmental, economic, and operational criteria through a Weighted Sum Model (WSM), enabling the calculation of composite performance scores for each decarbonisation technology across three pilot ports. Additional weighting factors were introduced, including alignment with relevant EU and national regulatory frameworks.
Participants also visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo to gain valuable insights into the operation of a photovoltaic power plant. We would like to sincerely thank the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo for their warm welcome and for hosting our partners.
As we continue to validate and prioritise decarbonisation technologies across pilot ports, we welcome dialogue with experts, port authorities, and industry stakeholders. Let’s work together to scale solutions that deliver measurable impact – the green transition is a team effort!
